The Structured Cabling Technician position is directly responsible for the professional installation, training, demonstrating and servicing of the work. Technical knowledge and certification is required in the areas of structured cabling, CCTV, access control and intrusion detections cabling. Professional communication and service provided to all internal and external customers, proactively ensuring a quality installation within the specifications and parameters established between the customer and CDIS, Inc. Building positive customer relationships and always representing CDIS, Inc. with integrity, and professionalism is required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structured cabling, CCTV, access control & intrusion detection cabling preferred.
  • BICSI Installer / Technician preferred.

  • Knowledge of communications industry including voice, data, video and security.
  • The ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, which requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision.

Potential technicians need to be able to lift and carry an 80lb ladder, pass a criminal background check (no felonies or Class A misdemeanors), have a good/valid driver’s license (no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years), be at least 21 years old, be able to take and follow direction with a positive attitude, understand safety first, work when you are scheduled, and treat everyone (customers and employee’s, fellow techs, dispatchers, management, etc.) with respect and professionalism. You must also have great customer service skills and the aptitude to learn technical aspects of the business.

This is a permanent full-time W-2 position (no 1099 contractors). Company will provide ladders, vehicle, and fuel. Techs are responsible for their own hand tools. Project Manager

We’re hiring a self-motivated Project Manager with experience delegating to 25 or more field installation technicians and junior staff members. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure all communication (voice, data, fiber optic, wireless, etc.) installation and deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible, and will hire new talent as needed to fulfill client/project needs.   • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

Low Voltage Technician

This person will perform communications cabling tasks and leads will manage crews of 3-5 technicians.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and manage cabling crews
  • Build out telecommunications closets
  • Install cable support systems which consist of cable tray, j-hooks and ladder tray
  • Install cat 6 horizontal station cable, backbone cable, fiber optic cable and inner duct
  • Install special systems, security, CCTV, audio visual, and fire alarm cable
  • Terminate cat 6 horizontal 4-pair work-area outlet (modular connector) and optical fiber (multi-mode, single-mode, LC, SC)
  • Perform copper splicing, fiber splicing (fusion or mechanical)
  • Perform copper cable testing (UTP and coax) and optical fiber testing
  • Perform both copper and optical fiber troubleshooting
  • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools
  • Must have the ability to lift, carry, and set up a 50 lb. ladder
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Some travel may be required

Tools:
Owns all company required communications technician hand tools, keeps them in good operating condition, and knows how to use them.

SKILL/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years’ experience running projects in the communications cabling industry
  • Data Center experience a PLUS
  • Wireless Surveying and Installation a PLUS

  • Ability to complete and submit accurate documentation which tracks work progress including timesheets and other related documents
